Core Beliefs
by Julie Mockerman

Practice truth...Embrace beauty...Pursue excellence...Fulfill dreams

I really hate lying. I try to practice truth in all that I do, because it's just easier in the long run. Don't have to worry about getting caught, and besides, it's my preference as a life style.

Embrace beauty - There's so much ugliness in the world, and sometimes the ugliness of society's ways overwhelm me. But in order to escape depression, I think it's important to embrace the beauty in the world instead. The many pallets of nature, the GOOD things people do for each other, the tenderness in some relationships, those are all good.

Pursue excellence comes from my Dad. He always said, "You don't have to be the best in the world, but you should strive to be the best YOU can be." I may be perfectionistic, but I really believe that in most cases (keeping a healthy balance of course) good enough is rarely good enough.

Fulfilling dreams is something we can do for ourselves and for others. In fact, when we help others to fulfill their dreams, it usually turns around and meets some of our dreams and needs as well.

I know not everyone will embrace these same truths, but that's why we each have our own voice, right?
