Many people are practicing the Daily English Practice Tips in the forums. They also post stories, introductions of themselves, and other interesting things. Because they are diligent students and want to get the most value from their work, some students want to have their forum posts corrected.

That is now possible!

You can choose to have all of your posts corrected.
You can have only certain posts corrected.
You can choose not to have any of your posts corrected.
The choice is yours!

But this is the great part...

You only pay for corrections!
So the fewer mistakes you make, the less your cost will be!
Isn't that great? Built-in motivation to write correctly!

Here's how it works:

  1. Click on the Paypal button below, just like when you sign up for discussions. The cost is $10 USD, and it pays for 100 corrections. This begins your Forum Correction account.
  2. Let me know if you want all of your posts corrected, or only some of them. If you only want some corrected, write "please correct" in the subject line.
  3. The number of corrections will be deducted from your prepaid account until it's empty. Then, if you choose, you may purchase another 100 corrections by returning to this page.
For those who are wondering how the forum corrections work, here is an explanation:
  1. After you write your forum post, I will make the text of anything that needs to be corrected red.
  2. When you see the red text in your post, click on Edit and put your corrections after the red text, making your correction green. You can do this by highlighting the word you have written and then clicking on font color.
  3. Last, I will review them, and put any necessary changes in purple. When I am finished with each one, I will put an asterisk * at the beginning of the subject line. That way, if you click on View your posts, you can quickly tell which posts need your attention by looking for the asterisk * at the beginning of the subject line. If you see it, then that one is either corrected or you used perfect English the first time!

Someone asked me how I count the corrections. I count by word or phrase. For example, if a phrase needs to have the word order changed, I change the entire phrase to red text and count it as one correction. If a verb tense needs to be changed, I change the verb to red text and that counts as one correction. If a sentence needs a comma or period, I make a small blank, like this, _, and count it as one correction. When I review a post after you have made your corrections, if no further changes are needed, it costs you nothing. If I put changes in purple, those count as a new correction. Just so you know, too, if I color some text red, and you think that it should just be omitted and no other word should take its place, you can just put a green blank, like this ___, and then I'll know that you understand that the word should be omitted.
