Why So Fast
---
By Johanne Lambert
I know that we are unique. I know that this uniqueness is a big asset for our society. However, we have some similarities also. One of these similarities is questioning ourselves.
Why are so many people in such a hurry?
My lover is thrilled happily when he hears the roaring of his big car's motor. The faster he goes, the happier he feels. I can understand his impetuosity even though I do not like it!
But for me, it is hard to bear. Why as soon as the child reaches the age to be able to dress by himself, do his parents keep telling him: "Hurry up!" "Go faster!" "We are in a hurry!" "Stop speaking and dress yourself!"
Today, the students had to run around the school. My back was hurting and two sick students did not want to run. I took their hands and we walked together. We saw the sun, we took the time to breath the autumn air, we saw the bustards which were passing over us, we listened to the music of the falling leaves and we thoughtfully touched a purple flower near a walnut. We arrived last, but we really experienced this pleasant walkway!
Do we always need to be fast? What do you think about that?
