wee hours of the morning

Amy: Arthur, wake up! You're supposed to be at work already!"

Arthur: "Oh, no! I guess I slept through my alarm."

Amy: "Actually, this is the third time this week that you haven't heard your alarm. What's going on?"

Arthur: "Well, I read in a magazine article that if I stay up into the wee hours of the morning, I will gradually need less and less sleep, so I've been trying it."

Amy: "Poor Arthur! It looks like this theory is not working for you. I think you should take that advice with a grain of salt."

sleep through
sleep without waking up

wee hours of the morning
early hours of the morning, like 1:00, 2:00, etc
(these are small numbers; "wee" means small)

take it with a grain of salt
not take it seriously
