The last few weeks were very exciting for my family and me. For over one year, we have been planning to buy a new car. The old one has been used for almost ten years and caused trouble as often as not. And of course, it was no longer comfortable enough for us. For various reasons we procrastinated on making a decision about buying a new one. It was not of the utmost importance. However, in the last year, the old car failed more and more frequently. Because of the crisis situation and arising uncertainty about the future, it was not easy to make such a decision. But with increasing envy, we continued peeking at new cars.

Before the end of last year, my wife and I dropped in to a car dealer. We already had the first image of what it should be. Of course, the variety of choices made the decision not very easy. One way or another, we were focused on Korean producers. Their cars are not perceived as very prestigious so they are relatively cheap. At the same time, I was already aware that Korean producers have made significant progress in designing and improving the quality of their cars. I have read a little about new models of KIA and Hyundai cars dedicated especially for European markets. Opinions about the cars are surprisingly positive. From technical and qualitative points of view, they are comparable to well known European, Japanese and American cars. On the other hand, the Korean cars are significantly cheaper than all the others mentioned above.

After the first trial and gathering new information, we did not make any decision. For fear of uncertain future and because of troubles with choosing an appropriate option, doing nothing was the easiest way to choose. The fear of the future was especially important. We cannot afford to pay cash for a car. It was necessary to borrow quite a lot of money for this purchase. And we did not want just any car. We lusted after a better car than we had previously. In the situation, we decided to wait for a better opportunity. However, in the middle of January I saw that, like most others, our preferred car producer was selling cars at lower prices than before. After the next visit to a car showroom, I sent to other car sellers an inquiry about our most preferred car model and its price. After a few days we became owners of Hyundai i30cw.

Now, we are glad that we have the new car. It is far more comfortable than the old one. Driving the car is by far easier, too. It was a great expense, but I do not regret it. My daughter, Cecylia, is especially pleased with the purchase. However, what was the most surprising for me was her statement ,“I am very happy that you, my parents, bought the new car for yourself.” She is happy that we made the decision and we are glad about it!
